Immanuel Prayer – Level One Foundations (12-Week Course)
This 12-week foundational training introduces the core principles and practices of the
Immanuel Prayer Approach, helping you grow in relational connection with Jesus while developing emotional resilience, spiritual awareness, and trauma-informed prayer skills.
Each session combines
biblical teaching, relational neuroscience, prayer, and practical exercises that invite relational participation that prompts and experiences God’s presence in a safe, sustainable, and life-transforming way.
This course is not only about learning a process of relational prayer — it is about developing a lifestyle of connection with God, yourself, and others.
Week 1 — Appreciation: The Doorway to Connection
Learn why appreciation is the key to opening the relational circuits of the brain and heart.
Discover how gratitude, joy, and peace are scriptural and practical practices that help us encounter God’s presence.
You will learn:
* How appreciation shifts the nervous system into relational connection
* The biblical foundation of thanksgiving and joy
* How to use appreciation and memories of joy to connect with Jesus. Accessing the neural connection that anchors us in the imprint and tangible experience with God
* How to return to peace when overwhelmed or disconnected.
Practice includes:
* Appreciation exercises
* Relational circuit check-ins
* Awareness of how to create and identify neurological safety.
Week 2 — Attunement: Learning to Be Present
Attunement is the ability to notice what is happening inside yourself, in others, and in the heart of God.
You will learn:
* How emotional awareness increases spiritual sensitivity
* How Jesus models relational presence
* How attunement builds secure attachment with God
* How to listen without fixing, judging, or rushing
Practice includes:
* Self-awareness exercises
* Attuning to Jesus in prayer
* Reflective listening skills
* Relational connection practices
Week 3 — Curiosity & Clean Language
Curiosity creates safety. Clean language helps people encounter God without pressure or suggestion.
You will learn:
* How gentle questions keep the brain in relational mode
* How to avoid leading, correcting, or forcing outcomes
* How curiosity opens the door to revelation
* How Jesus used open-ended, clean language questions to bring transformation
Practice includes:
* Clean language questions
* Partner listening exercises
* Curiosity-based prayer
* Staying present without fixing
Week 4 — Building Joy Strength & Emotional Resilience
Joy is not just happiness — it is the brain’s capacity to stay relational even in difficulty.
You will learn:
* How joy builds emotional strength
* The joy–pain–joy cycle of resilience
* How the brain grows capacity through connection
* Why God’s delight over us is essential for healing
Practice includes:
* Joy memory exercises
* Relational strengthening practices
* Daily appreciation rhythms
* Returning to peace after stress
Week 5 — Story Work: Rewriting the Past with Immanuel
Painful memories can hold emotional charge until they are encountered with connection.
In this session you will learn how to safely invite Jesus into past experiences so the memory can be integrated rather than avoided.
You will learn:
* How memory is stored in the brain and body
* How trauma forms when we experience pain without connection
* How Immanuel Prayer brings healing through relational presence
* How Jesus reframes identity through encounter
Practice includes:
* Inviting Jesus into our memory
* Encountering Jesus in past and present experiences.
* Replacing lies with truth
* Integration exercises
Week 6 — Wired for Connection: Relational Neuroscience & Jesus
God designed the brain for relationships.
This session explains how connection with Jesus affects the nervous system and how spiritual attachment rewires the brain.
You will learn:
* How the brain is designed for connection
* How secure attachment to God brings peace
* How appreciation, worship, and presence regulate the nervous system
* How to live a lifestyle in the awareness of Jesus presence
Practice includes:
* Immanuel connection exercises
* Body and nervous system awareness and regulation
* Renewing the mind through relational prayer
* Daily presence practice
Week 7 — Understanding Trauma & Welcoming Internal Parts
Many people carry parts of the heart that hold fear, shame, or pain.
In this session, you will learn how to welcome these parts safely and invite Jesus into them.
You will learn:
* What trauma does to the brain and nervous system
* The window of tolerance and emotional regulation
* How internal parts form
* How Jesus meets every part with compassion
Practice includes:
* Integration of Parts awareness
* Trauma-sensitive and trauma-informed facilitation
* Integration of somatic awareness
Additional Training & Practice (Weeks 8–12 Intensive)
After the 7 foundational sessions, students may continue into a 4-week supervised practice intensive.
This stage focuses on learning how to guide others through the Immanuel Prayer process.
Includes:
* Weekly training groups
* Supervised practice sessions
* Step-by-step coaching
* Integration of the full Immanuel process
Participants in the full course also receive:
* 3 private one-on-one Immanuel Prayer sessions
* Personal guidance and feedback
* Practical experience in safe relational prayer

Remain relational with Immanuel, even during difficulty or emotional distress
Recognize when the nervous system is dysregulated
Return to peace through appreciation and relational connection
Safely invite Immanuel into painful memories
Pray with others in a gentle, trauma-sensitive, and relationally aware way
Reduce the risk of retraumatisation during prayer ministry
Discern the difference between demonic manifestations and responses arising from internal parts
Live with a growing awareness of Immanuel’s presence
